About us

I started Wishing Well Cookie Co. LLC in March of 2022. I wanted for a long time to start a small business and be able to work from home so I could spend time with my kids. When I was younger, I would bake Nestle Tollhouse cookies using the recipe on the back of the semisweet morsels bag. Over time, I adapted the recipe to better fit the tastes of my family. The result is my soft, sweet and salty, addictive chocolate chip cookies.

When news of the war in Ukraine hit in February of 2022, I saw an article online about the NICU at the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Children's Hospital. The premature infants were being moved from the hospital into a bomb shelter. Being a NICU mom myself, my heart was shattered for these families and I knew I wanted to do something. I began taking online orders for deliveries of my chocolate chip cookies, and pledging 100% of profits to TAPS-Ukraine, an organization that provides aid and support to widows and orphans of the war. We ended up raising over $1,200. I decided then that I would donate a portion of my profits to charities each month.

It came as a complete surprise to me how quickly news spread of what I was doing, and how much people enjoyed my cookies. At that point, I had only been taking orders online for delivery, and word was all spread through social media. At the end of March, The Exeter Newsletter reached out to me wanting to do an article about Wishing Well Cookie Co. That article is linked at the bottom of this page.

After the article came out on April 1st, I began receiving larger orders. People were reaching out to me to provide cookies for parties, meetings, and events. It's all very overwhelming, but I'm enjoying it immensely. I've developed several other unique and classic flavors, but chocolate chip remains a favorite.

The name, "Wishing Well Cookie Co." came to me as I was looking out the dining room window one afternoon, brainstorming ideas for a roadside stand display. I saw my mom's old wishing well, used to store gardening tools, and thought that it would make a really unique, interesting stand. Unfortunately, that one was rotting and couldn't easily be moved. My grandfather built me a beautiful new wishing well, made to fit perfectly around a cooler to protect the cookies from weather and animals. It wasn't until several weeks later that I realized it's also a play on words; by donating to charities, we are "wishing well" to others.

This journey is still only just beginning. I'm so excited to see where it leads and how much this endeavor will grow in the next year and beyond.
